Texas Chainsaw 3D has released a special New Year themed TV spot, in which the audience is reintroduced to Leatherface to the strains of Auld Lang Syne.
The new film will pick up where the original left off, showing the disgruntled townsfolk finally rising up against the cannibalistic Sawyer family and burning their house to the ground.
Fast forward several decades and we follow a young woman who mysteriously inherits some land in Texas from a relative she never knew existed. And who should still be knocking about this land? Yep, you guessed right.

To be honest, we’re not expecting anything particularly high-quality from this one, but we’d be lying if we said the sight of a chainsaw resting upon a trapped girl’s arm didn’t give us the creeps somewhat…
Directed by John Luessenhop and starring Alexandra Daddario, Scott Eastwood and Gunnar Hansen, Texas Chainsaw 3D will open in the UK on 4 January 2013.
