Important Notice:

You now have a choice!

Access Key is no longer available as a login. Instead, we are now offering, two new, safe and secure options. In order to maintain your on-line access to Veterans Affairs Canada programs and services, please convert your Access Key to either SecureKey Concierge or GCKey by December 31, 2012. Read our Letter To Clients to learn more.

Before you decide, you are encouraged to learn more about your options on our Frequently Asked Questions page.

My VAC Account is a secure, online service that allows you to communicate with us through secure messaging and conduct business with us online. The service is designed to give Veterans convenient and secure access to the Department, any day and any time.

Among other things, My VAC Account allows you to:

  • Communicate with the Department through a secure messaging system;
  • Change your address or direct deposit details
  • Complete certain applications online; and
  • Inquire on the status of your application(s) for disability benefits

You can register online at any time. If you need help, a VAC agent is available from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (your local time) at our toll-free number 1-866-522-2122. If you live outside of Canada, please visit the Contact Us page for the best way to reach us.

Registering is easy—all you need to do is sign up for GCKey or SecureKey Concierge. Once this is done, you will need to verify your identity as a VAC client. You can do this through Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or through VAC. Either way, once you’ve completed these two important steps, you will have access to My VAC Account.
