Django Unchained has released a final trailer, featuring a few new snippets of footage from Quentin Tarantino’s Deep South tale of revenge and redemption.
The new trailer includes a couple more looks at Kerry Washington’s character Broomhilde, the wife of Jamie Foxx’s Django, held captive by the villainous Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
There are also some new scenes between Django and his mentor Schultz (Christoph Waltz), as the older man readies his protégé for his new life a bounty hunter.

As with most of the others that have gone before, the new trailer is impossibly cool, and gives a nice taste of the razor-sharp dialogue and note-perfect performances that really set the film apart. Meanwhile, giving a few extra scenes away matters less when you’re working with a 3 hour run-time.
Co-starring Don Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson and Walton Goggins, Django Unchained opens in the UK on 18 January 2012.

I went to see Django Unchained… I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding the movie… but, what I saw was a powerful love story that I believe is worth seeing. Perhaps it will spark real conversations about the demise of African families due to slavery practices and more importantly the systemic disconnect between American black men and black women that can be traced back to not only the plantations in the United States but also the slave trade on the African continent. I am even more hopeful that the movie will at least spark the interest of young people who really don't know about the historical, socio-economic, and horrendous realities of the African slave trade. Should this movie spark their interest, perhaps they will be eager (or I'll settle for just curious) to learn more. The general rule is that the more equipped we are with knowledge, the more inclined we are to do something with what we know… ~~Here's to Sparking Interest, Healing Old Wounds, & Doing More Because We Collectively Know More, Revie Michelle Lang Smith
