Cumberbatch should have been No 1 but well done Totalfilm for having him at No 3. Nice shot too.

I completely agree. Henry Cavill IS the hottest! Kisses for all people who follow Henry Cavill Fanpage and the Cavillry!

50 names and you manage to leave out arguably the best actor out there, Michael Fassbender, who has 2 to 4 movies coming out?!?! The Counselor (lead); Twelve Years a Slave (supporting, but he will leave a mark), the Terrence Malick movie (if he does not get cut...) and possibly Frank (lead). Wow... Also, one could argue Tom Hiddleston will also be more visible this year than some of the people on this list. But that's more of a debate. No debate about Fassbender!

Yeah, where the hell is TOM HARDY?! I agree with Cavill being first but The Batch is the most interesting actor in this list. TotalFilm, you should feature crazy-smart fan names of actors. You know, Hiddlestoners, Cumberb***hes (I still think this is the best of the bunch), Cavillry, Mcavouyers. That would be cool.

Cumberbatch has reached the apex of his career, huh? So you're expecting it to be downhill from here? Or don't you understand the meaning of the word 'apex'?

James McAvoy should have been much higher, at least in Joseph Gordon's place. I really don't understand the fascination with JGL. And a big lol at Cumberbatch's third place. What a joke.

And... of course all the fangirls are in rage when the actors they like are low on the list or not in it at all. We should all look back to this feature when 2013 draws to a close and then we will see. Also, @crisaf, hate the Cumberbatch all you like but he really is in a lot of highly-anticipated movies this year, ranging from blockbusters to Oscar-bait ones. So yeah, better accept it or the joke is on you. One more thing, CHIWETEL EJIOFOR. And yeah, where is TotalFilm's goldenboy , FASSY?

I seem to be the only person who really doesn't like Benedict Cumberbatch, I just found him annoying as Sherlock...and I hear rumors he is one of the runners to take over from Craig as Bond after his next 2 films. GOD NO

Was honestly surprised to see The Rock/Dwayne Johnson wasn't in this list, especially when someone like Vin Diesel is. He is back with Fast 6 (and was easily the best thing in Fast Five), looks to be the best thing about GI JOE Retribution or whatever it's called, has Pain & Gain (the new Bay film) with Wahlberg being released this year, as well as Snitch. Add in to that the fact that he is attached to a number of roles that are going in to production at some point this year, Empire State, Ciudad, Lore, Hercules and Arabian Nights and the guy will have a monumental year. People might question the quality of the films he is in, but it is highly likely they will all have decent success.

As much as we love Tom Hardy (and we do - we really, really do), he doesn't have a single film out in 2013. The most we can hope for is a Fury Road trailer. The film's due 2014. Better than never, eh?

Where is FASSY?!?!?! Michael Fassbender - amazing actor who is THE talk of town at the moment: Hunger, Fish Tank, Shame, X Men, Prometheus etc. Very surprised he is not in the list - he is also gorgeous

OK, Total Film, usually you are reliable, so. Who on earth wrote this list? It makes little sense. Where are the following? Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, Cillian Murphy? There are some utterly incredible names (Cruise at #11? Please!!!) and you failed to mention a lot of good actors with exciting new movies. Makes very little sense and I'm a bit suspicious about it.

I was expecting Michael Shannon (Man of Steel, The Iceman) to be on here. Also, no mention of James Franco being in This Is The End, or Bradley Cooper (whose birthday is actually today) in The Place Beyond The Pines, or of Ryan Gosling shooting his Directorial debut How To Catch A Monster
