After being thoroughly thrilled by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation Of Smaug (AKA, The Hobbit Part 2) has shot up our list of the must-see movies of 2013.
When we caught up with Peter Jackson and his cast recently, we made a point of asking them all what bit of The Desolation Of Smaug audiences should be most looking forward to.

Must admit initally i wasnt expecting too much from this , knda though it might actually bomb . But ive got to admit really enjoyed it , visually brillaint , some great turns by some great actors my only actual critisism is that he chose to make Azog the Defiler, The Pale Orc, Cgi rather than an actor in prostheics , think that might have worked better is all

An Unexpected Journey was a great film. The prologue, battle outside Moria, Gollum and Azog were all among the highlights of the film and my God, my jaw was just resting on the floor for a long time lol. I think that the critics' douchiness lowered my expectations a bit, so that as opposed to my expectations being so high that the film couldn't meet them, I didn't know what to expect and had a brilliant time. I'm looking forward to seeing Mirkwood and Legolas again plus of course Erebor once more with Bilbo and Smaug's encounter.

The problem with the majority of critics who reviewed An Unexpected Journey is they reviewed the technology instead of the movie, just look at Film 2012, Newsnight and even Mark Kermode's reviews they all focused too much on the 48fps camera. I was amazed to see that the sunday times actually gave The Hobbit a more positive review than the people I mentioned did.
