Introductory course |
The University Library provides the infrastructure for users to conduct searches for literature and information. The online FU Catalog, Digital Library, and the Instituional Repository can be accessed anywhere in the world.
There are working spaces and computer workstations available in the University Library for users plus WLAN for FU members in the entire building. A specially equipped working space is available for blind or sight-impaired users. The reading room is fully air conditioned. Photocopying services are available including printouts from all computers, scanning, etc.
On the second floor in front of the reading room is a cafeteria with vending machines for hot and cold beverages and snacks.
Users can ask for help and information at various places, beginning with the Information Center desk on the first floor. Queries may also be sent by email or telephoned in (see Ask a librarian). A library weblog called BiblioBlog is available in German language.
The University Library organizes introductory courses on using the library as well as on online literature searches.
A Virtual Tour of the library has been created to provide a brief orientation and introduction to using the library and the services available: Start Virtual Tour
