For once I did not mind clicking through all 50 itmes - nice (if shallow) list. It does shed some light on why Mark Millar recently took several shots at certain DC characters making it to the big screen. I cannot remember in which publication I read that but it does make sense after reading your article. What a baby.

Its funny i posted a blog to my account on Tumblr entitled "Why the World Didn't Need Superman Returns" detailing why I thought the film didn't work. I thought it came down to several factors including the kid. But I still enjoyed the film.

39 is "really old"? How am I able to be typing this since we're apparently in the 1700's?

39 is old for a potential franchise. That being said I cheer the casting of Amy Adams even at the 'older' age of 36. If anything the biggest stretch that Singer made was believing that Kate Bosworth was a veteran battle tested reporter.

While I am obviously excited to see the latest take on Superman, Man of Steel, I still firmly believe Superman Returns was a a good/very good Superman movie. Yes it had its flaws, but so have all of the Nolan Batman flicks, with Rises being actually very average overall, nobody however seems a quick to dismiss Nolan for these glaring mistakes. Singer at very worst - for me - definitely deserved the right to make a sequel to Superman Returns and if had been allowed I truly believe would have been what X2 was to Xmen...a far more polished piece.

While I am obviously excited to see the latest take on Superman, Man of Steel, at least that Christopher Nolan produced and Zack Snyder directing.
