The Last Stand

The Last Stand brings Arnold Schwarzenegger back to the big screen following his break from acting. The man they call the Governator, Arnie and the Austrian Oak is back in a leading role after a nine-year hiatus that began after Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines back in 2003, if you don't include brief appearances in Around The World In 80 Days and The Expendables flicks.

Arnie plays Sheriff Ray Owens, the last line of defence in a small border town while Gabriel Cortez, the most notorious drug kingpin wanted by the FBI, hurtles towards him in a heavily armed convoy intent on destruction. At least Arnie has a massive machine gun that we get to glimpse in the trailer.

The Last Stand is the first American film directed by Kim Ji-woon and brings Schwarzenegger back to the forefront after cameo roles in The Expendables and The Expendables 2. Also starring Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Genesis Rodriguez and Rodrigo Santoro, The Last Stand is Arnie’s stepping-stone back into action films with Sylvester Stallone collaboration, The Tomb and David Ayer directed Ten, still to come.

It’s safe to say we are all very pleased that Arnie is back (well, he did always hint that he would be), and he told us about being the 'little guy' in the movie.

The Last Stand hits UK cinemas on 25 January 2013, let us know how you feel about the return of the Austrian Oak in the comments section below.
