The Sessions is based on the true story of Mark O'Brien, a poet paralyzed from neck down due to polio who decides to hire a sex surrogate in order to lose his virginity.
The film is written and directed by Ben Lewin.
The Sessions stars John Hawkes (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets), William H Macy (Boogie Nights), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation) and Adam Arkin (A Serious Man).
The film debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The Sessions will appear at the 56th London Film Festival in October 2012.
The Sessions will be released 18 January 2013.
