Warm Bodies could see a new dawn in Hollywood, replacing The Twilight Saga's revamped vampires with zombies.
With World War Z taking the serious approach, Warm Bodies provides us with the first zom-rom-com to feature a member of the shuffling undead as the romantic lead.
Based on Isaac Marion's popular book of the same name, the film focuses on R (Nicholas Hoult), a infected zombie living his everyday life in post-apocalyptic America. R has no clue of his past, and only speaks in grunts to his best friend M (Rob Corddry).
However during one feeding frenzy, R's life is transformed as he falls for the girlfriend (Teresa Palmer) of one of his victims. Their romance sets in motion a chain of events that could change the entire world.
Following from the critical success of 50/50, Jonathan Levine directs, with Dave Franco and John Malkovich also involved in the post-apocalyptic comedy.
Although the poster suggests a Twilight feel to proceedings, the trailer indicates a much warmer, comedic tone to the film.
Warm Bodies will open in the UK on 8 February 2013.
