These newfangled games consoles that are coming out this year are all well and good but do we REALLY need them in this era of grotesque economic meltdown? Read More >>
Do you remember watching Avatar? It was a pretty long time ago! And though it looked amazing in 3D IMAX (and not so amazing on sad old DVD) there were definitely things wrong with the movie. Like how it was Pocahontas or Dancing With The Wolves with a giant blue man group. Or how it was only fun when you watched it in 3D. Anyway, Cinema Sins takes Avatar to task and finds everything wrong with the movie in less than 4 minutes. [Cinema Sins] Read More >>

What you're looking at here is the first official still released from the Wikileaks movie, TheFifth Estate, with Sherlock himself portraying the embassy camper. There's quite the resemblance to a younger Assange here. He certainly looks creepy enough. Read More >>
Remember when the portable DVD player used to be about as modern as it got? Imagine, watching a film while on a train or sat in the back of the car. The problem was that it would cost you about £150 to enjoy the privilege. Read More >>
There are all kinds of people who'd want to know if a movie will be a hit before it comes out: companies who are throwing down money on advertising, and even you before you let yourself get excited. Well according to researchers at Tottori University, there's a mathematical equation out there that can do a pretty good job of just that. Read More >>

Movie posters should be less cliched and more spoiler-y. I don't want to see scantily clad actresses from behind (yes I do), I want to know what's gonna happen in the movie! Like these posters made by designer Matteo Civaschi. They're like movie hieroglyphics—you can actually decipher what the movie is going to be about. Read More >>
Quentin Tarantino is one of the greatest and whackiest directors ever. He's got a new film out, Django Unchained, but before you go see it -- which you totally should, because it's Tarantino's take on a Western and therefore automatically awesome -- you should refresh your memory of Tarantino's greatest moments of genius. Pretend it's educational or something; sit down, and if you've got corn, pop it. Read More >>

I can't say this has exactly come as a shock to me -- I said as much in my review of the two services -- but now we have statistically undeniable proof. According to the streaming aggregation masters at Oric, almost every film of TV show is an exclusive to either Neftlix or LoveFilm, but not on both. Good thing they're both cheapish. Read More >>

Noon is the new North Pole. A sun-drenched city in a world 250 years in the future, desolated by nuclear mining, which set off a 50-year-long earthquake, and a volcanic eruption large enough to halt the Earth's rotation. This awesome 10-minute short shows a brutal world ravaged by corruption and greed, and looking like a cross between District 9 and Judge Dredd, it's well worth a watch. Read More >>

My favourite movies in the world are those that involve time travel. I can't help it, it's my weakness. I also love any movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt. And Bruce Willis. And hell let's just add Piper Perabo because she's just as cute as her name sounds. But I didn't watch Looper. Man I need to get out more. Okay, I'll watch it right after I see everything that's wrong with it, in this 3-minute video. [Cinema Sins] Read More >>
