A few things... Its sad there are no more Tony Scott films to look forward to :( . Doesn't Danny Boyle have a film out this year? Most of these 'defining movies' will be 3 stars at best.. *cough* Die Hard 5 *cough*. Who will get the Prometheus award for over-hyped letdown? Time will tell. Happy 2013 to you all :D

With Maniac, if "the entire film" is shot from Frank's POV, why is the still a picture of us looking at Frank?

Ali1748 - Twelve Years a Slave is the true story of a NY citizen, Solomon Northup, (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) who is captured and forced into slavery in 1800s. The film stars Michael Fassbender (of course), Brad Pitt and Benedict Cumberbatch, amongst others. Knowing Steve McQueen's work, it will pull no punches. The cinematographer and editor are the same as in Hunger and Shame. I can't wait for its release.

The Gosling has been busy hasn't he. Has he borrowed that time thingy from Hermonie? But I still believe that Superman will be the most EPIC film of the year, outdoing both the chronicles of Asgard AND The Stark.

Oldboy with Will Smith, directed by Spielberg was to be an adaptation of the many a and NOT a remake of the film; so it wasn't hard to imagine at all really.

Good list -- a few questionable choices though. Check out the selection on Unsung Films for a more alternative 2013... quite a few gems that have been missed out (Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive and James Franco's Child of God to name a few).
