Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw 3D may have topped the US box office, but this shock-doc about the decaying American public school system, with its powerful overlords (complacent teachers’ unions) and potential saviours (charter schools), is more likely to send a chill down the spine of the average American.
Director Davis Guggenheim painted a similarly apocalyptic tale of the future in An Inconvenient Truth; once again, he shows a knack for presenting otherwise dry facts and figures in both a simple and dramatic way, combining them with heart- rending human stories.
