The Hobbit's existing footage has been fused into epic seven-minute trailer: watch now

Fan-made trailer plays out in chronological order

The Hobbit has been blessed with an epic new trailer online, in which all the footage that has been released so far is cut into one single, lengthy teaser.

The video is fan-made rather than an official release, but it’s still well worth a look, if only to whet your whistle for the film’s grand unveiling next month.

And for those who think trailers these days reveal too much, bear in mind this is seven minutes of a three-film series. It shouldn’t spoil too much…

Check it out, below:

The trailer plays out in a nicely chronological order, and reinforces Peter Jackson’s skill in only releasing promotional material plucked from the very early passages of the story. There’s a glimpse of Gollum, yes, but most of the surprises Bilbo meets along the way have been kept fairly close…

Co-starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in the UK on 13 December 2012.

That was actually really good. Beware of spoiling lots of fun character moments and interactions that made The Fellowship such a great movie. I hope these remain staples throughout the new trilogy. It'll be interesting to see how Peter Jackson prevents the film from feeling claustrophobic, as the dwarves all stay together in this, instead of splitting up and following separate journeys as in LOTR

I thought it was great, but where is Richard Armitage's name in the actors. He is very important part of Hobbit. trailer very good.
