Pusher

Borrowing money off your drug dealer is never a good idea

Nicola s Winding Refn’s Danish drugs drama debut gets a pointless London remake, courtesy of director Luis Prieto.

Richard Coyle is suitably grimy and intense as narcotics peddler Frank, in debt and out of his depth as he careers around the capital.

Less impressive is supermodel waif Agyness Deyn as Frank’s on-off heroin-addict girlfriend, who spends most of the film trying to find a vein to inject into.

There are some moments to savour, notably a delicious disco punch-up.

But for the most part this feels like a poorly scripted episode of EastEnders, lacking any of the substance or style that characterised Refn’s 1996 original.

Verdict:

  • TBC
