Interactive charting

The FT’s interactive charting tool allows you to build customised charts and overlay events data (e.g. dividends and splits) and FT news and technical indicators.

You can also make comparisons against a range of indices, peers and companies or view your portfolio transactions, as well as track dummy investments to test investment strategies.

  • How do I find interactive charting?
    • Interactive charts can be accessed from specific equity and index pages, by selecting the “Interactive chart” link beneath the company or index name.
    • You can also access a wide range of charts through the charting section – this is located within markets data and allows you to view charts by a range of groups such as recently viewed charts or market movers.
  • How do I build my interactive chart?
    • When you have opened an interactive chart, you will see a range of criteria available to you.
    • At the top of the chart, you can change the timeframe by selecting the different options available, or by specifying a custom range.
    • Beneath the timeframe options are a range of options available to you such as comparisons, and chart styles.  Select these options to further build the chart so that it meets your requirements.
  • How do I save a chart configuration?
    • If you have spent time setting up specific criteria within an interactive chart, you can save the configuration and return to it at a later date.
    • To do this you must be either registered or subscribed.  Select the “Save” button located within the bottom right of the charting window and enter a name you want to remember the configuration by.
  • How do I share a chart?
    • You can share a chart by copying the chart URL accessed by selecting the “Share” button, located at the bottom right of the charting window. You can share this link via email.
  • How do print my chart?
    • There is a print option available which allows you to print out a copy of the chart without other content on the page.
  • Can I view the chart in a larger view?
    • If you wish to view the chart in a full browser view, you can select the “Large chart” button, located at the top right of the charting window.
