Director Operational Risk Management

My client is looking for an Operational Risk Manager within the Investments Group (which includes the Investment Boutiques, General Account Investment Management, Retail Mutual Funds, Guaranteed Products, Retirement Plan Services (DB/DC platform) and the retail Annuity businesses).

Specific responsibilities include:

• Supporting the business’s implementation of the company’s operational risk management framework
• Lead/coordinate operational risk assessments using the company’s standard methodologies, and work with business partners to improve risk controls
• Determine and monitor appropriate operational loss data, key risk indicators, scenario analysis and analysis of emerging trends to proactively identify exposures or control weaknesses
• Participate in working groups with Compliance, Legal, Operations, Business partners etc. to improve risk/control management framework and documentation
• Partner with corporate risk management group to enable efficient and effective operational risk controls
• Develop presentations to senior management and the Retail Mutual Fund Board to ensure a deep understanding and appreciation for the operational risks across the businesses

Requirements:

• MBA, CPA, or other advance certification/degree preferred
• Significant operational experience in Asset Management or Mutual Funds
• Demonstrated understanding of risk and control concepts in an investment operations environment
• Broad knowledge of investment products and associated operational processes
• Experience with operational risk reporting tools and methods would be a plus
• Highly analytical with ability to deal with difficult situations
• Strong business and commercial acumen
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with individuals from all levels of the organization
