Tax Manager

Our client is a publically traded global organization with multibillion dollars in assets. Due to its continued growth, our client seeks a motivated and dynamic tax professional to help further to its success.

The objective with this role is to grow and cultivate the successful candidate to eventually head up the entire tax function for this group.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Tax Planning
    • Assist with global tax planning
    • Design, implement and monitor efficient cash repatriation and distribution strategies
    • Proactively identify tax savings opportunities
    • Implement internal reorganizations
  • High involvement with deals/modeling
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting
    • Manage K1 tax reporting to public and private infrastructure funds
    • Ensure timely filing of US tax returns for the public and private infrastructure funds globally; interact with external advisors and co-ordinate collection of information
    • Prepare and maintain current U.S. tax basis figures and earnings and profits balances
    • Manage US tax withholding on distributions by public and private infrastructure funds
    • Prepare and maintain current PFIC documentation
    • Prepare quarterly tax provision and SOX procedures for public and private infrastructure funds and provide support to the Finance team with tax accounting and legal entity accounting
    • Develop and monitor private Fund structures in accordance with Fund agreements and investor side letters
    • Ensure appropriate transfer pricing documentation is in place

Requirements:

  • Qualified CPA with significant corporate tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or in industry with a multinational corporate group;
  • Strong technical knowledge of US tax rules including corporate reorganizations, partnerships, withholding, PFIC and earnings and profits;
  • Experience managing large tax compliance processes and assignments;
  • Basic understanding of cross-border tax issues and US treaty analysis;
  • Good understanding of and experience with tax accounting under US GAAP and/or IFRS;
  • Able to communicate complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner;
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment, and
  • Excellent project management skills and applies a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments.
