Packaged meat company Smithfield Packing Company is recalling some 38,000 pounds of pork sausage because it may contain small pieces of plastic, likely from gloves, the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Thursday.

Check your fridge and your freezer for 1-pound packages of Gwaltney Mild pork Sausage roll.

If they have a 'use by' date of March 12, 2013, don't use them, they may contain small "glove-like" bits of plastic. Take them back to where you bought them for a full refund.

He's out! Oscar Pistorius granted bail

Oscar Pistorius has been granted bail. The decision just came down from the Chief Magistrate in South Africa.

In order to leave jail he just has to pay his bail, and he's free pending his trial. Bail was set at 1 million rand, or a little more than $112,000.

Rapper killed in Vegas Strip shooting, crash

Police are hunting for an SUV that appears to be at the center of a deadly chain-reaction crash on the Las Vegas strip Thursday.

Shots were fired from a black Range Rover into a Maserati, which then hit a taxi. The taxi exploded into flames, killing two people inside.  The driver of the Maserati, a rapper known as "Kenny Clutch," also died.

60 million people pounded by huge storm

A massive winter storm has dumped more than a foot of snow in some places.  Some 20 states have been hammered by this thing so far, including Missouri which has declared a state of emergency. They could see more than 10 inches of snow there.

It has spread across the country, dumping snow in the west and the north and torrential rain elsewhere.

18 states hammered by snow, ice, freezing rain

There's a big winter storm in the Southern Plains and Southwest United States this morning!

The storm is centered over Texas now with the main energy lagging behind in New Mexico. The end result is a winter storm warning for 11 states and advisories for a few more.

Lead detective taken off Pistorius case

A new lead detective has been assigned to the Oscar Pistorius case as Hilton Botha now faces attempted murder charges.

Botha, who testified in Pistorius' bail hearing, is among a group of officers accused of shooting at a van they were chasing a few years ago. They were allegedly drunk at the time, and were all charged with seven counts of attempted murder.
