Our client, a division of a multi billion $ US multinational, has a pressing need to recruit a European Finance Director to lead accounting and finance activities for a complex European business. This is a key and high profile role within the organisation and will require an experienced finance leader with the ability to improve workflow organisation within a complex multi-country structure.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain forecasting processes that accurately predict future performance and motivate actions to ensure forecasts hit agreed upon targets
- Work closely with functional and business unit leaders in conducting detailed financial and business analyses to identify potential problems, determine root causes and recommend appropriate solutions
- Lead financial portion of the strategic planning process, ensuring that results from initiative are properly scoped, presented, tracked and reported
- Develop and direct a world-class finance team utilizing the requisite systems and processes to support business unit activities (20 direct reports)
- Provide leadership, direction and processes to operating unit leaders to drive significant working capital improvements
- Accurate and timely consolidation of all operating unit financials
- Assist in the financial evaluation of potential acquisition targets and lead financial due diligence for target acquisitions
Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA Degree and/or CPA are preferred
- Fluent in English and Swedish
- In depth knowledge of Swedish accounting processes and US GAAP reporting
- Experience as lead finance executive of a complex multicountry finance function within stand-alone company or business unit within a sophisticated public company environment
- Experience working in companies known for setting a demanding level of expectation from a financial standpoint, e.g. managing working capital, payables, receivables, etc
- Substantial operational experience in increasingly responsible financial/controlling leadership positions
- Experience running shared service accounting
- Strong demonstrated communication, negotiation and customer satisfaction skills required
