Changing a subscription

If you wish to upgrade from a registered user to a subscriber or change your subscription package you can do so at any time.

Below are common questions we’re asked when customers do this.

Changing a subscription FAQ

  • I’m a registered user. How do I subscribe?
    • First sign in to ‘Your Account‘. Clicking on the tab ‘Subscription Level’ will allow you to see your current package and will show you the subscription packages you can upgrade to. At the bottom of the table, you’re able to select the subscription package that best meets your needs.
    • Once you’ve selected a subscription package, you’ll be taken through to the sign up form – here you’ll need to re-enter your password as we’ll automatically fill the form with your information where we can. Follow the sign up process through providing your payment details and on completion, you’ll have upgraded to a subscriber.
  • I have a Standard FT.com subscription. How do I upgrade?
    • First sign in to ‘Your Account‘. Clicking on the tab ‘Subscription Level’ will allow you to see your current package and will show you the subscription packages you can upgrade to. At the bottom of the table, you’re able to select the subscription package that best meets your needs.
    • Once you’ve selected a subscription package, you’ll be taken through to the sign up form – here you’ll need to re-enter your password as we’ll automatically fill the form with your information where we can. Follow the sign up process through providing your payment details and on completion, you’ll have upgraded.
  • Can I upgrade to get FT.com and the FT Newspaper?
    • There are 2 options.
      1) If you subscribed via FT.com, you can upgrade to receive FT.com Premium + Newspaper by visiting ‘Your Account‘. Once signed in you can access the ‘Subscription Level’ tab and select to upgrade to a Premium + FT Newspaper subscription.
      2) If you subscribed via the FT Newspaper sign up process, our Customer Services team will be happy to assist you. See here for contact details.
  • Do I need to upgrade to access FT.com on my mobile or tablet device?
    • The good news is you don’t need a separate FT.com subscription to access FT on your mobile or tablet device. Your email address and password for FT.com will be recognised on our mobile apps and our mobile website – you just need to sign in.
  • Can I downgrade my FT.com subscription?
    • Yes. Visit ‘Your Account‘ and click on the Subscription Level tab. If you have a Premium FT.com subscription you can downgrade to a Standard Subscription. If you want to downgrade to being a Registered user, you’ll need to cancel your subscription. To do this, contact our Customer Services team.
  • I want to subscribe to FT.com instead of the FT Newspaper. How do I do this?
  • How do I cancel my FT.com subscription?
    • We’re sorry you no longer want your FT subscription. Call our Customer Services team and they’ll be able to do this for you.
  • How do I cancel my FT Newspaper subscription?
    • We’re sorry you no longer want your FT subscription. Call our Customer Services team and they’ll be able to do this for you.
  • How do I cancel my subscription to the FT Newspaper on my Kindle?
    • Your Kindle subscription to FT Newspaper is managed by Amazon. You’ll therefore need to log in to your Amazon Kindle account to cancel this subscription.
