Most people are not happy about their government being complicit in the murder of innocent men, women and children. Some are prepared to do more than tut tut about it, and have decided to take action.
The
Stop The War Coalition has called a protest against drones for April 27, which is plenty of advance warning. This will not be held in the capital but Lincolnshire, at RAF Waddington after marching from Lincoln city centre.
If you don't understand why this sort of protest is so important, you will find a simple explanation
here - from a simple person! Calling these attacks a war is more than simply misleading, it is totally mendacious. The British Government is complicit in the murders of innocent people, yet more outrage is generated over a a football pundit who uses the
dreaded N word than over these attacks which may have claimed thousands of lives in Pakistan alone.
Stop The War has a number of other events in the pipeline, including a benefit concert at a
London theatre on April 7 that will feature
Brian Eno, among others.
This latter is to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Yes, ten years we've been there, we've destroyed its infrastructure, murdered, maimed and tortured its people, and they wonder why the world is a more dangerous place than it was even before September 11, 2001.
