Kirsten Dunst Slams Brad Pitt Kiss As 'Disgusting'
Kirsten Dunst thought kissing Brad Pitt was disgusting.
Hopefully, Angelina Jolie doesn't agree.
As for the reason she's bashing the onetime sexiest man alive's tonsil-hockey skills? Well, she was 11, for starters, when she played an undead woman trapped in a child's body in "Interview With the Vampire." And kissing in general is pretty darn gross to 11-year-olds, if we remember our human development correctly.
"It was just a peck," Dunst told Bullett magazine, while attempting to promote her latest film, "Upside Down," a fantasy drama with Jim Sturgess. The article gushes over her adaptive talent and her illustrious career. But little did anyone know that her little lip lock with Pitt would be the thing making headlines. Again. The now-30-year-old actress described Pitt as kind of grungy back then. Hey, it was the early '90s! Pitt, who turned 30 during principal photography on "Vampire," hadn't yet appeared in his "Legends of the Fall" heartthrob role and wouldn't be named sexiest man alive until the following year. At the time, he was rumored to be dating costar Thandie Newton too.
"I remember Brad would watch lots of Real World episodes," she told the mag. "He had this long hair. He was just a hippie-ish cool dude. Everyone at the time was like, 'You're so lucky you kissed Brad Pitt,' but I thought it was disgusting. I didn't kiss anyone else until I was 16, I think. I was a late bloomer."
Dunst, who received a Golden Globe nomination for the film, has been interviewed several times about the kiss and has held her ground on the subject.
"It was horrible, and I hated it," she previously said. "Brad and Tom [Cruise] were like my big brothers on the set, so it was like kissing your big brother — totally gross! He said, 'How do you think I feel? I have to kiss a little girl.' It was awful!"
"Kissing Brad was so uncomfortable for me," she told Interview in 1998. "I remember saying in interviews that I thought it was gross, that Brad had cooties."
Dunst is dating her "On the Road" costar Garrett Hedlund, whom W and Vanity Fair have labeled as "Pitt's successor."
Ironic. Wonder if he has cooties too.
