Thirty Seconds to Mars playing Saltair Oct. 9; tickets on sale Friday

Remember when Jared Leto was an actor who sometimes performed music, rather than a rock star who occasionally worked as an actor?
Leto, his older brother Shannon, and their bandmate Tomo Milicevic – known collectively as Thirty Seconds to Mars – has announced fall tour dates for North America, including a stop Oct. 9 at Saltair.
The band is supporting its fourth album, "Love Lust Faith + Dreams." New Politics is the opening act.
Tickets, at $28 in advance (and $33 on the day of the show), go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith's Tix.
(By the way, Leto's acting career is getting back in gear later this fall, with a role in the drama "Dallas Buyers Club" starring Matthew McConaughey. The movie is set to be released in December, in time for awards season.)
