Brigham Young University media relations manager Todd Hollingshead jokes that it’s his school’s version of a drinking game: Repeat as the nation’s most "stone-cold sober school" and tip back a carton of chocolate milk.
In an event as predictable as moon stages and sunsets, BYU topped The Princeton Review’s "stone-cold sober schools" list for what Hollingshead says is the 16th straight year.

The Princeton Review released its 2014 edition of “The Best 378 Colleges” book Monday, which includes a list of the top party schools.

"I guess you could say it’s our sweet 16th," he says. There is no double-secret probation at BYU; the school’s famed Honor Code makes total sobriety a condition of enrollment. "We absolutely embrace it," he says. "It’s a major reason why people choose to be here."
BYU was also ranked the No. 1 most religious school, the No. 6 LGBT-unfriendly school and was at or near the top of various sobriety lists. Iowa was named the nation’s best party school. Each campus receives 333 surveys, involving 126,000 total students nationwide.
The publication’s academic ratings, "a measure of how hard students work and how much they get back for their efforts, on a scale of 60-99," rate major Utah colleges thusly: 1. Westminster (87), 2. BYU (85), 3. Southern Utah (81), 4. Utah State (70), 5. Utah (67), 6. Weber State (64).
