Tamar Braxton on the Time Kobe Bryant Took Her to T.G.I. Friday's

As the Lakers great prepares to play his final game, 'The Real' host reflects on the time they found friendship at Friday's

Tamar Braxton and Kobe Bryant once shared a magical meal at a T.G.I. Friday's.

If T.G.I. Friday's is ever going to have a Beyoncé-Red Lobster moment, this might be it.

With tonight marking Kobe Bryant's final NBA game, the entire basketball-loving world has been doing some reflecting. From Nike athletes talking about his competitiveness – in which Kevin Durant kept it 100 by calling him an "asshole" – to the Lakers honoring him by having both his jersey numbers on the floor for his farewell game, everyone's feeling rather nostalgic about a legend walking away from the NBA after 20 unforgettable years.

That even includes the crew on The Real, somehow.

Other than Tamera Mowry talking about Bryant's guest appearance on Sister, Sister – and yes, that really happened – Tamar Braxton mentioned that Bryant once took her on a casual date to T.G.I. Friday's when he got drafted in 1996. While that was the extent of their romance, they apparently found out that they were best buds for life. Another testament to the power of Endless Apps.

"I remember first meeting Kobe in Philly when he first got drafted, right?" Braxton said. "We kinda went on like a friendly date, sorta. We went to Friday's and discovered we was, like, homies."

Between taking Brandy to prom and going on a date with Braxton, Bryant clearly had a thing for R&B stars of the Nineties. It was a good run, Mamba.
