Author and mathematician Steven Strogatz will visit Rochester Institute of Technology to talk about the mathematical concept that explains the spontaneous emergence of order out of chaos found in these and other phenomena. His talk, “Sync: The Emerging Science of Spontaneous Order,” will take place from 7 to 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences auditorium, building 70-1400.
Strogatz, professor of theoretical and applied mechanics at Cornell University, is author of the book, Sync: The Emerging Science of Spontaneous Order.
The event—free and open to the public—is sponsored by RIT’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics in celebration of mathematics awareness month.
