It is a very complete game, fun and addictive, but the free-to-play model is way too demanding here. We would have liked to have a version we could buy without in-app purchases and adds.

Tetris needs no introduction, and this is the only version without a D-pad and A and B buttons that’s worth playing. It’s also free. For these reasons it’s an easy recommendation, even if the original’s charm has been replaced by neon and marketing.

Tetris Blitz is probably one of the best spin-offs on the popular formula available on the mobile market. The two-minute bursts of gameplay work well, but in the end the lack of balance in the scoring system tends a lot towards the "pay-to-win" solution.

It's more about power-up explosions this time, but that's not a bad thing.

Tetris Blitz is played two minutes at a time, but bypassing the pop-ups to get to the core game feels like it takes just as long. Not having to pay for the game up front sounds like a great bargain, but when you are bombarded the way you are in Blitz, it makes it feel like you’re getting ripped off, even if you haven’t spent a dime.

A fresh, fast-paced twist on the classic Tetris formula that'd be easier to recommend if it wasn't for its expensive IAP-centric design.

Even though the controls were adapted for shorter rounds, the fundamentals of the game remain unchanged. As a result, every round feels incomplete, leaving you wanting more, but more of something other than Tetris Blitz.

Have played this one for over a year. I will admit that it is fun but unfortunately EA got a hold of it and transformed it from a classic gameHave played this one for over a year. I will admit that it is fun but unfortunately EA got a hold of it and transformed it from a classic game into an automated self-selling product as they have done with about every game they touch the last 5 years. So be warned...

The biggest disappointment with this one is the reward system. This game has been tweaked for optimal "wallet tugging" performance. All of the features in this game that make it fun cost "coins"..but the problem is... The coin cost for these features is high and the rewards are very very low. But...you can pull out your wallet and buy plenty of coins and packs ranging from $1.99 to $99.99...

Power-ups are expensive and you will spend around 15k coins for 3 of them for 3 2 minute games. The maximum reward in single player is 1500 coins. Do the math. To earn 15k coins without power ups will take you about 30 games at an avg. of 800 coins per game if you are good.

Player vs. Player battles.... rewards are absolute garbage in the upper tier matches. It is based on a medal system (points). I am (was) an upper tier player with just about 2100 medals. Players in this tier average about 1.7-2.5million points per game with finishers. It will cost you around 50k-70k coins for a SINGLE MATCH to be competitive. If you win....your rewards are a mere 1000-2000 coins and a small increase in medals. If you lose....you lose a HUGE portion of your medals and what you spent to play. The worst part of the PvP battles is that if you don't play the matches offered to you within a certain time you lose medals.....even if you don't even have the game up. Within a week on vacation and not playing I dropped from 2100 medals to a measly 836. It cost me millions of coins to get to this point...and yes I spent $$ on coins just to be able to keep up with the dozens of matches forced onto me.

Tournaments are ok but again....will cost you. I have won many tournaments but usually spent a considerable amount of coins to win...and sometimes the rewards are barely worth it.

Finishers are constantly offered to you as they are very expensive..25k-50k coins for a single use in 2 minute game. They are offered before...and after the game. Before you can use coins to purchase....after the game .99 - $1.99 to use it once.

Since the winter update the game has some serious crash issues which always happen in the middle of a game. You do not get your coins or power ups or even your finisher back if you crash...and there is no support to help with your purchase.

Again....the game is fun... but it is a pay 2 win platform... and it isn't cheap. If the rewards system was revamped this one would be worth it....but for now it remains horrible for marketing reasons.... EA wants your stress and impulsive reactions to not being able to use the features in the game...and breaking down and spending $$ for coins. Trust me.... in a year I have probably spent a good $60 on coin and finisher packs just to be competitive .....There is no other way to do it unless you can win every tournament you play.
