  1. A beautiful looking game which is also lots of fun to play. It’s true that it is not a massive game, you should be able to beat it 100% in just 3 hours, but those 3 hours will be completely filled with pure platforming bliss. This is exactly the sort of thing we want to see more of on WiiWare and comes highly recommended to all.

Over the Top Games has shown that it's possible to develop excellent games with the relatively limited resources of WiiWare. It's not just having an original and good idea, but also knowing how to make the best of the available resources.
  3. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is old-school at heart, but completely innovative and fresh when it comes to gameplay. It's an excellent adventure that defines the gold standard for WiiWare.
  4. A must have title for you to download, Nintendo and Mario should take note as this is one of the best platformers on the market.
  5. This is the best WiiWare title yet, and clearly one of the greatest games from the Wii catalog.

An original and modern 2D-platformer. NyxQuest blends action and puzzles into one seamless entity. [Aug 2009]
  7. A cracking download that exemplifies everything great about WiiWare. [Sept 2009, p.94]

NyxQuest is a very well made and fun platforming game in the style of LostWinds.
  9. It is a worthwhile adventure for 1,000 Wii Points that shouldn't be missed by anyone who appreciates a finely crafted, beautiful, and challenging game.
  10. Over the Top has tempered its obvious ambition with skill and understanding, and the result is a game that’s refreshingly quick to take flight.
  11. The folks at Over The Top Games gave life to a good (yet not very original) idea, using mythology to create a good and solid platform. Maybe it had been better to use an open structure, and not levels, but NyxQuest is surely one of the better games available on WiiWare. And they seem to be a lot.
  12. It’s lovely, and if there’s any criticism to be made, it’s that while NyxQuest effortlessly builds into something delightful, it never quite manages that little extra twist that distinguishes a truly memorable title. Even so, that’s still enough to make it stand out from its WiiWare peers.
  13. Beautifully stylized, beautifully implemented, and a true joy to play, NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is another excellent title in Nintendo's already-impressive WiiWare library.
  14. I finished the game in just under four hours. After that, it was another four hours to collect all the Easter eggs and unlock the bonus level. Eight hours of cosmetically solid, wholly original gameplay is worth the ten bucks in my opinion.

Indie developer Over The Top Games has done a fantastic job fusing gorgeous visuals and a masterful soundtrack with solid and satisfying gameplay mechanics that are put to great use in a selection of rewarding puzzles.
  16. While not shining particularly for level design solutions, NyxQuest stands as an example of balanced mix between platform and puzzle game, all plunged in a beautiful, classical greek background. At the present time, one of the best offering on WiiWare.
  17. The sights, the sounds, and the interesting puzzles really set the game apart from anything else on WiiWare right now.
  18. Better looking than many a retail game and with only a little more variety it could've been a 2D classic.
  19. The game could be tightened up in a few places and we'd rather not have the stealth level at all, but if you're after a game that successfully marries old-school platforming with contemporary physics and interface, you could do a lot worse than NyxQuest.
  20. There are many drawbacks to NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, and they make this a tough game to recommend, especially with a 1000 Wii Point asking price. But players looking for a slow-paced platformer full of puzzles will definitely enjoy the experience.

Perfect music, perfect graphics, perfect controls. Everything at a moderate level of difficulty. It motivated me recently to play WiiWare games again. :-) Only the ending is kind of unsatisfying, for this reason 9/10. Makes me feel the developers run out of time. Full Review »

Simple but addictive, you always need Great game, designed with the old school enchantment, for moments I was able to smell my NES console. Simple but addictive, you always need more. It's TOO short and in this game that's a sin. Atmosphere, music, controls, and colossal elements make this a memorable game. I think it is expensive, you pay a book and receive a comicbook.
