In what it proposes, F1 23 is virtually perfect. Keeping the graphic strength and refinement of mechanics that worked well in the previous game, it brought back a narrative mode that, along with an interface overhaul and quality of life, only improves what was already amazing.

It only remains to say that it is one of the best racing games made to date and without a doubt the most outstanding in the world of Formula 1, since it is faithful to its roots, maintains its essence, as well as adding new features such as the exciting and deep F1 World mode and the long-awaited return of the Braking Point narrative production.

With more content than ever before and news ways to engage, F1 23 is Codemasters’ best Formula One game to date – and maybe even the developer’s best racing game ever. New mechanics and car physics make this game a joy to play and F1 World is shaping up to be a fantastic addition to the series moving forward.

F1 23 improves upon the status quo while injecting updates to the cars, two new circuits, and a more complex story campaign for the 2023 season.

F1 23 is pretty much a faultless racing experience. While its career mode may be lacking in innovations this year, the return of Braking Point and the new F1 World mode more than make up for it. Add in other improvements and features, and you have what is undoubtedly the best F1 game yet. If you’re an F1 fan this is an absolute must-buy as usual, but even racing game fans in general would be wise to add this to their collection. With its wealth of content, brilliant handling and sublime presentation, F1 23 is simply racing at its finest.

EA Sports F1 23 is an improvement on last year, bringing back the enjoyable Braking Point story, and providing better control on the track.

EA Sports and Codemasters deliver another great outing oft he F1-series. F1 23 deliver tons of gameplay- thanks to the addition of Braking Point 2 and F1 World. Longtime-F1-players will be disappointed due to the lack of new features in the career-mode however.

F1 23 is an amazing racing game for Formula 1 fans but it fails to take the extra mile.

F1 23 is one of those games that manages to make you love even more a genre that you already liked a lot, or even didn't like. Few titles can boast of this, and that shows that this work is a true game within the driving and simulation genre.

F1 23 improves and expands almost everything from the previous iteration of the series, from the driving model to the physics of the single-seaters, even the multiple game modes are now – finally – abundant.

F1 23 makes welcome changes and additions to the series with the most beneficial being the racing. My Team, Career and Two-Player Career have surface updates, but is largely the same. The new icons in the Champions Edition aren’t much to write home about outside of Nigel Mansell. I don’t think many would clamor to have Pastor Maldonado as a teammate. F1 World is a surprising addition that adds a whole new element to the series while Braking Point 2 is a good follow up if you’re in the mood for some drama. The team did include the Supercars again, but it’s buried in F1 World and the cars are exactly the same. There are still no classic cars or track options, which was a great addition but has been phased out in recent years. Also, a lack of a PSVR2 version when PC has VR is disappointing. The best element still comes with the actual updates to the racing physics and how the car behaves. F1 23 is a solid improvement in some regards over F1 22, but one can question if it’s enough.

Accessibility is the watchword of F1 23. Codemasters has not limited itself to the homework and has rearranged the driving model to make it less unpredictable and, above all, more suitable for those who do not compete with the wheel and pedals. The return of the Braking Point mode and the renewed F1 World hub add even more substance to an excellent content offer. The graphics/physics engine is starting to show some signs of aging but is still valid. The ups and downs of the AI are unfortunately still part of the experience, but on the other hand the multiplayer sector has been redesigned and should satisfy all players a little. This incarnation is ultimately good: in the future, however, we expect Codemasters to take more clear steps forward for the series.

F1 23 is a solidly packed racing experience that improves upon its predecessor in almost every way. With a little something for everyone, on top of an immersive and impressive experience on PS5, it's a worthwhile addition to the libraries of enthusiasts and casuals alike. We loved how tailormade the game could become, whether that was a heavily assisted racing experience, or a brutally immersive one. The campaign doesn’t always hit the mark, and F1 World while expansive isn’t exactly revolutionary, but at the very least, it’s nice to see Formula 1 get the same care and attention that many other popular sports games have been receiving for years.

F1 23 is a fast-paced thrill-ride plunging you into the extraordinary world of Formula One. Braking Point 2 is a huge success, and while other elements of the game have barely changed, the gameplay itself is as addictive as it is enthralling.

F1 23 is a fantastic entry to the perennial Formula 1 experience. Driving is polished on both wheel and controller, and the visual experience is second to none.

There’s a lot packed into F1 23 for fans of the motorsport, as well as more casual sim racing fans. This year’s release brings back the surprisingly compelling Braking Point campaign alongside immersive, highly customizable career modes full of decision-making and driver and team development. Throw in the all-encompassing F1 World mode and you’ve got a feature-rich package that’s sure to please most racing fans.

After the somewhat scant F1 22, F1 23 is back in the right gear. Braking Point 2 is an enrichment, small tweaks to the gameplay keep the racing fresh, while EA's experience drips from the online content. Enough for an eight minus, but if F1 wants to score big eights and nines again, a major MOT service is needed.

Braking Point 2.0 does offer some solid (if sometimes cringe-inducing) drama, the driving mechanics and presentation continue to impress, and generally, to an outlier, this is one fabulous F1 game. However, resting on your laurels only gets you so far, and F1 23 has failed to move the needle in regards to making F1 games even more compelling than they already are. By all means, pick up and relish another core EA and Codemasters F1 outing, but it's time the series stopped playing it safe and gave us something audaciously new.

F1 23 gives a good first impression as we get stuck into the story mode and take in the sights and race car sounds of the Las Vegas Strip, but the real test will be how it holds up in online racing, how progression through F1 World comes together, and if those first feelings with the handling stay true through the many more hours of racing to come.
