    A remake done right. Everything about this remake is very well designed and everything was crafted from the ground up. They definitely kept the spirit of the original game fully present in this remake. I appreciate how they managed to pull over all gameplay mechanics from the original game while subtly improving with some of the modern day finesse. This is for better and for worse, while the game is a ton of fun, it is such an honest remake to which it really does feel like you're playing an Xbox 360 game in regard to the gameplay. Doesn't make it bad, but the jump scares and set pieces are incredibly predictable this many years later.

    The graphics are excellent, but I have to say that Callisto Protocol set a very high bar for the graphics just a few months prior, despite being a worse game overall. After being treated to the visuals of Callisto Protocol, I can't help but feel a little disappointed with the graphics in the Dead Space remake. They're not bad by any means, but it goes to show you that they didn't do their best. The sound design is greatly improved with the ambient noises and the voice acting. I also really appreciate how they made Isaac have a voice from the very beginning, which adds a little more depth to the character and ultimately the setting itself.

    Overall, its a great game for fans of the original and for newcomers. Doesn't do anything particularly well in today's age, but it is an enjoyable experience.    … Expand

    As a gamer who never played the original, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, Dead Space Remake is a beautifully crafted Survival Horror game. From the atmosphere to the creature designs, it keeps u on ur toes it's entire runtime.

    The weapons are fun to use and combat is nice and smooth. The Story is simple yet effective. All of these little elements come together to make an Early game    As a gamer who never played the original, I wasn’t sure what to expect.     Solid remake, hopefully RE4 and SH2 will be as good, if not better remakes. Everyone who hated this remake, before it even came out, will never be whole.

    Some of us did not wonder if Dead Space would be forgotten and we would not be lucky to see it again with a decent conclusion despite Dead Space 3, which strayed far from the main premise and everything went to waste. Now we do not have that long-awaited conclusion, instead we have a "REMAKE" that is undoubtedly an extraordinary renewal as we saw with Capcom's Resident 2; I personallySome of us did not wonder if Dead Space would be forgotten and we would not be lucky to see it again with a decent conclusion despite Dead Space 3, which strayed far from the main premise and everything went to waste. Now we do not have that long-awaited conclusion, instead we have a "REMAKE" that is undoubtedly an extraordinary renewal as we saw with Capcom's Resident 2; I personally didn't think that the original title could be improved, and to the surprise of all players this time MOTIVE studio managed to improve something that we thought was almost perfect from the beginning. The additions not only range from the obvious graphic improvement, to this we must add an increase in information and context in the lore of events and the history of the main and secondary characters, even our protagonist will not be a mute character as in the original, Now he has a voice that allows him to interact with the other characters, adding a lot of information about Isaac's character, we can even see Isaac's face from the beginning and we will notice a change in his face and a resemblance to actor Adam Sandler (FOR THIS ONE REASON I DON'T GIVE IT A HIGHER RATING). During the journey in the story we will be given secondary objectives that we can complete as we unlock access to the different sections of the Ishimura. The weapons are the same as in the original title but there was certainly some major balancing and changes to the secondary shots making them more useful (as in the case of the pulse cannon which is now quite useful). The trophies are mostly the same as the ones we saw on PS3. In a matter of enemies, the necromorphs are more aggressive and resistant, the mechanics of dismembering them is now much more "realistic" since while we do damage to them we can see if we pay attention to how the meat is cut until leaving the bones uncovered for the final "cut". The lighting, textures and the redesign of some parts of the Ishimura greatly improved the immersion resulting in a terrifying game and you should not miss it. In my opinion, this is a light of hope for fans of the saga that invites us to dream that future installments (if there are any) will be improved by removing everything that the players did not like and we can see a conclusion to the story epic way. Let's just pray that EA doesn't implement the microtransactions and co-op that didn't work and screwed up.… Expand

Instead look at Steam Reviews by people who actually bought the game, look at Dead Space Reddit, look at gameplay on Youtube. Most actual real fans seem to like it a lot, me included. Original is obviously classic and will always stay that, but from now on, remake will me be my go-to Dead Space.

    They nailed Isaac talking. It's not too much, it's just enough and when necessary or when it just makes sense. Graphics are amazing, million times better than the original (as they should be). Audio design and music are really good. Creature/Boss design is solid and some bosses are way better in the remake. For example The Slug was one of the most boring bosses in the original, but in remake it's so well done. Brute and Hunter are also solid.

    Man, this game is masterpiece ever i playing, EA Motives did hell job with Remake on this game. i noticed story is little different from original especially side missions.. Gameplay is excellent, graphic is stunning. Dualsense features feel incredible. dismembering Nercomorphs limbs look so realistic. Please consider to do remake for Dead Space 2 in future years

    Everything's perfect, this is the best way to enjoy Dead Space, yeah it has some performance issues, some frame drops, but it didn't ruined any of the experience to me.

    Very slick remake. Plenty of atmosphere and great physics with the kinetic upgrade. Very satisfying combat and highly polished all round. Can't wait for Dead Space 2 remake

    This game is extremely well made. It stays true to the original, and has a few goodies added aswell. If you played the original you'll love it. If you didnt play the original you'll love it even more! The only thing that stops this gane from being an 11 is the graphics.     A solid remaster of a fantastic original game. It brings many of the same ingredients and uses much of its overall tone but adds several smart modern sensibility tweaks(game design wise) to every single element of the original from map layout, character designs, screenplay, mission design as well as the of much toted visual overhaul.     I have never used Metacritic, but reading these pathetic negative reviews made me make an account, just to confirm that this is indeed a good remake. I'm huge fan since 2008, those people who hate the remake, don't sound like fans at all. Pretty sure they just look for stuff to complain about.

    Loved the game in 2008 and loving it more today. For a remake its the best ive played in years. Graphics & FPS are solid, default difficulty is perfect, story is actually better then the original, weapons kick ass & gameplay is great. Also the map & R3 for directions is perfect. Lets GOOOO! Dead space 2 & 3 remake asap!

    This game really lives up to "Resident Evil in Space". I'm 5 hours in and loving the game. I never know when the monsters are going to jump out at me. Keeps me on edge, and gets me every time. The puzzles are interesting, zero-g fighting is fun, and story seems to be just deep enough for a videogame without taking itself to serious.

    I have not played the original, but what a blast!!!
    I am only 2 hours in so far, but I can already say this the best survival-horror I have played (along with Silent Hill 2). The graphics are beautiful, but I think the best thing is the sound design, it is really worth to play with an audio 3D headset.

    What a game!!!!

    Excellent game. I never played the original so am new to the franchise. Amazing atmosphere, story and gameplay. Misses out on being a 10 because of too much emphasis on jump scares ie. enemies appearing behind you out of literally nowhere which just becomes tedious after the third times it happens, as well as poor resolution on PS5

    I missed the original series and I'm happy I did. I am experiencing this story for the first time and I'm so hyped and scared! I was a huge fan of F.E.A.R. series (especially 1 and 2). Dead Space reminds me about that and additionaly takes me to my beloved cosmos climates.

    Eines der besten Remakes überhaupt. Sowohl für Neueinsteiger und alte Hasen. Man kann nur hoffen das Dead Space 2 dieselbe Liebe und Aufwand zuteil wird. Und dann ein frischer besserer Dritter Teil.
    Leider sind hier viele Trolle die mit fadenscheinigen Argumenten 0/10 geben. Wtf. Hatte mir das schon gedacht. Callisto Fanboys die Rache nehmen wollen weil keiner ihr schlechtes Spiel mag. Lol.

The game now has side quests which expand more on the games lore which is such a great idea, it wasn’t needed but it definitely is welcomed as I was enthralled and very interested by the expanded lore we got with these new sidequests explaining other characters motives and etc. overall this game is a fantastic horror game and I feel the criticism it is getting is ridiculous gender neutral bathrooms, characters face changes, etc if you’re looking for a well polished replayable horror game, that will keep you invested in it’s twisted story while also being fun to play. Pick up dead space remake. Motive has done a great job with this game and I hope they handle the series from now on as they truly have passion for this franchise and have done a great job touching up on the game’s flaws and fixing them but not changing everything to where it’s unrecognizable.… Expand

    I mean, the rest of the reviews here already explain it. This is a remake Dead Space deserved. It's on par with Resident Evil 2 one. Everything that could have been improved from the original has been done so - next-gen graphics, superb sound design, tweaks to the gameplay, more rich and extensive story. It's all there. I expected the remake to be good, but not this good.

    I have always loved this series for many years, and I was impatiently waiting for the remake, and I was happy that the game will only on the last generation of consoles, and I thought that it would be a historical remake.. The ps5 version has a lot of problems, as I saw, and the graphics were frustrating during my experience, but the remake and The story and gameplay were great.     The definitive Dead Space experience. Whether or not you played the original 2008 Dead Space, you’re sure to have a good time with this game. So glad to see this now-classic being brought back to life with welcome new additions such as side missions and more dynamic action sequences. Highly recommend!

    Amazing fun that will you literally scare the s**t right out of your pants. You feel so bad for the protagonist under constant stress and horror. You'll want to play it over and over. I'm a big fan of the original series and this remake has given me a new reason to dip back into the ninightmare. .

    This game is a masterpiece. It takes everything good about the first and makes it even better, and even improves some of the rougher parts too like the infamous turret scene. I’m loving this game! Worth a purchase, even at full price!

    Playing this game on my PS5 with an 85” TV and 3D Audio Sony wireless headphones is incredibly immersive. In fact, it’s too immersive ! I can’t play this game at night anymore. Even though I played through the entire original series, and several other survivor horror games, you think I would be used to this by now. The next best thing to sex and cardio to get your heart rate up !

Dead Space Remake has a great story, great graphics though there is some odd suit texturing, and the lighting is right there with The Callisto Protocol for sure.. this is also scarier than TCP but TCP really was going for more disturbing than scary in my opinion and for a large portion of this game I got jump scared and genuinely felt claustrophobic as I was bombarded with necro waves and frantically searched for a way out.. the enemy AI in particular is unbelievably hostile, you cannot turn your back and yet its impossible to know if they are behind you because the devs wanted you to be able to turn around and be mortified that somehow the necro snuck up on you. The gunplay is EXCELLENT and offers a lot of customization and every weapon feels like it could be the only one you really need if you get enough ammo. The puzzles are good with some being a bit hard to figure out if it's been a few years since you've played the game but once you figure it out it's gonna seem so simple to you! There are a lot of lockers and containers to open for rewards but many of them are locked behind getting higher security access or put more simply; progressing the game that you are going to remember exactly where that was and how to get there because maybe it's got some ammo you really need or even a med pack. The zero gravity sections are done very well but I absolutely HATED how hard it was to find a necro that was hiding and shooting you from a distance, at times the lighting almost camouflages them and it does feel a bit unfair but that's more a "me problem" than anything.



    So my gripes to keep it from a full 10 is the pacing, performance problems and constant waves of necros that felt like game time padding rather than necessary for the story. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 and if these issues get fixed in DS2 it's an easy 10!    … Expand

    Bom, joguei a versão do jogo para PS5 e o game conseguiu me entregar 100% de exclusividade da nova geração. Eu, particularmente, vejo como nova geração com motor gráfico Unreal Engine 5, tanto que ficou muito perfeito a iluminação.

    Ambiente Macabro / desdobramento ((Extremamente excelente e Satisfatório))
    Ambiente desse game está realmente bem sombrio e extremamente macabro e ao mesmo tempo, ele consegue te deixar tenso e a relação do desdobramento realmente ficou incrível, por parte dos monstros mutilados e desfigurados por parte do corpo.

    Curiosidade: Entrevistado pelo site Edge, o produtor executivo ((Glen Schofield))
    Revelou que a equipe de desenvolvimento do jogo, estudou imagens de acidentes e vítimas de guerra para dar mais realismo às cenas de desmembramento e aos cadáveres que aparecem no game. "Sei que isso parece terrível, mas tivemos que olhar coisas como essas para fazer certo - o jogo retrata alguns momentos de carnificina extremamente real. Os primeiros corpos que criamos simplesmente não pareciam reais o suficiente", comentou.

    Trilha sonora – ((Extremamente excelente))
    Continua a mesma da original, porém com novos recursos. Podemos ouvir áudio 3d, fico bem mais sombrio, ainda com trilha sonora encaixado perfeitamente em Dead Space Remake.

    Original Vs Remake
    O game teve uma melhora significativa de upgrade e não somente em relação ao gráfico, mas teve melhorias menu e melhor ainda é que mantiveram a história original do game, sem sofrer grandes mudanças de impacto. Um exemplo que teve muito impacto foi “Residente Evil 3 remake”.

    Jogabilidade / gameplay ((Extremamente excelente))
    Podemos notar que tivemos uma grande surpresa nesse game, ele teve uma melhoria bastante substancial em relação ao gameplay, exemplo monstro, Isaac Clarke e até as armas tiveram melhoria em relação a jogabilidade. Exemplo, monstros estão mais ágeis, inteligência artificial melhorada, inclusive estão mais macabros até mesmo desdobramento está real. E o Isaac Clarke sua movimentação está mais fluido e ágil e não como robotizado e podemos sentir mais humana, até mesmo teve muita melhoria visualmente mais bonito incluído as armas também.

    Conclusão
    Bom se vale a pena comprar no lançamento? Para quem é realmente fã desde a versão mais antiga, vale a pena sim, principalmente porque terá além da oportunidade de ter a experiência nostálgica, de ter a experiência de nova geração. Se não tiver condições, recomendo esperar uma promoção.

    I played this at the orginal launch and loved it. Never would i think i would love playing a remake so much as i did here, the same jump scares only in great graphics. The game is respectfull to its original release and is a must play to people who have not played the original, and if you just want to experience the old game again in a modern finish.

After playing the likes of RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake over the past few years, it feels like a breath of fresh air to get a remake that is both the original, content complete game and then some on top. Don’t get me wrong the RE Remakes have things that are praiseworthy, and the trailers for 4R look great, but it’s surprising just how nice it is to not play aTHIS is how you remake a game. After playing the likes of RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake over the past few years, it feels like a breath of fresh air to get a remake that is both the original, content complete game and then some on top. Don’t get me wrong the RE Remakes have things that are praiseworthy, and the trailers for 4R look great, but it’s surprising just how nice it is to not play a “reimagined” remake where they gut it of half its content.
    The changes here feel earned, and really manage to blur the line between the OG game and a modern release.
    The original holds up well for a 2008 release, but the fresh look and visual redesign are absolutely impeccable. It holds the same tone and amazing ambience that the original had, while elevating it with the new lighting and smoke effects.
    It’s a stark reminder of just how good the OG Dead Space was, and just how sad it is that the series took the sharp turn in the wrong direction that it did.
    If this opens the door to remakes of 2 and 3 (which I would be so onboard with), I desperately hope that they open up 2 a little to make it less of a straight corridor in terms of level design, and for 3.. well, maybe they should just REmake 3 from the beginning, and actually make something approximating a survival horror game.

    Amazing game and experience. all the negative reviews about languages are literally obnoxious.

    Even as a non horror fan myself I really found joy in how great the game immerses you and how amazing it is to experience the story and lore bit by bit.

    EA Motive please remake the entire trilogy, I'd love to see it through a new and even better lens.

L’unica pecca il prezzo, per un remake, per quanto possa essere fatto bene è una rapina farlo pagare 80€

You slowly edge down the hall,As you clunk down a familiar hallway, that you had already trekked before, you notice something is different. It’s not as well lit before. Heavy, dense fog has filled the halls. The lights are flickering, betraying your already clouded vision. All you have for a light source is your flashlight on your Plasma Cutter, which is also being obscured by the fog. You slowly edge down the hall, tense and on edge, waiting for something to pop out. Your RIG (health) is flashing red. One hit will kill you.

    BANG. A nearby vent breaks violently, screams emerging from down the hall. Frantically, you look and wait for an inevitable creature to reveal itself. As a shadow travels towards you with a blood thirsty drive, you fire your shots in a panic towards the figure. It breaks into a dead sprint, screaming pain and rage as it barrels. Finally you can see it: it bears human resemblance, but it is of horrific composition. Its mangled face has been peeled by your cutter, revealing what used to be a humans skull. Its arms have also been hit by your cutter and thin bone is shown from its arm. Now these arms are weapons, sharp, sword like bone protrude from its arms. In one feel swoop, it cuts your head off despite your heavy duty armor. Hooked yet? This game is perfect for you. Dead Space, at its core, is a haunted house built on the principle of giving you just enough to keep you alive. Dead Space Remake, at its core, is a haunted house built on the principles of giving you just enough to keep you alive, but instead of it being a haunted house, it’s a living, breathing nightmare. If you thought to yourself that Dead Space didn’t need a remake, you would have been right up until this game was released. Dead Space Remake hits the mark nearly perfectly, improving several flaws while adding to the formula.

    Graphics:

    First things first, visually the game is stunning. The colors are vibrant but keeps its industrial/sickly look. Attention to detail has improved drastically, whether it’s the laser coming from your weapon or the drag tenacles (once you kill one, look to where it grabs you. It shocked me.)

    On performance, there is not too much detail taken away. The game plays butter smooth, hardly any stuttering. On Graphics, frame rate is sacrificed, but it feels exactly like old Dead Space. The lighting is gorgeous. The volumetric fog works perfectly in limiting vision. The way blood sticks to Issac now after stomping on a corpse is shockingly real. Everything about the visual aspect of this game is fantastic.

    I will include this apart of graphics, but the animations is a main gripe I have. They are extremely stiff and unnatural looking. Zero G is extremely noticeable, Issac is not as smooth floating through the air. It’s easy to ignore, but I wish it would have been more buttery. Dead Space 2 is twice as superior when it comes to animations.

    Story:

    The story has not changed much, but noticeable shifts in how the story plays out makes much more sense. I won’t go in to detail to avoid spoilers, but I’ll say that certain characters you never encounter are now alive to help you tackle certain areas. It helps that this improves the already great story.

    Voice Acting:

    The voice acting is a double edged sword. Issac now gets a voice apposed to not, and it’s implemented perfectly. It’s gritty, raw, but logical. Jacob Temple is a returning voice actor, he was fantastic as well. Most voice actors have been replaced that have lost some performance, like Nicole and Kendra (although Kendra’s acting seems to improve towards the end. I actually started to really enjoy her). In other words, we gained some, lost some, but in the end I think it was a slight improvement overall.

    Combat and Exploration.

    Combat has not altered much either, but there are some major QOL changes that have been implemented. Kinesis has improved, as well as movement (which is faster. It feels much better compared to DS1). Weapons have also been balanced much better. The flamethrower and ripper are my personal favorites. Squirt some flames on an enemy, then rip them apart with a levitating saw blade.


    Exploration, on the other hand, is brand new. You can now back track to areas that had locked supply closets before. These are opened with security clearance instead of power nodes, allowing no risk of you using them all. You think you cleared the medical deck? Think again. Areas will still have monsters that might or might not spawn. You never know. The Intensity Director will drastically changes certain areas, complete shutting off lights, introducing volumetric fog, rupturing certain vent covers, or even adding the sounds of screams. It will ALWAYS keep you on edge because you never know when an alien Zombie will rip your face off.

    Summary:

    Dead Space Remake is a near perfect love letter to Dead Space. It’s scare factor is cranked up, and the game is a blast from the past waiting to be beat the hell out of.    … Expand

    This is the definitive Dead Space Experience, if you didn't play the original, this is the Version to Play forget about the 2008 one. and if you already played the 2008 Version, you'll appreciate this Remake

A lot of attention to detail, especially liked the decision to make an inconspicuous Isaac's heartbeat, which increases or decreases depending on the situation.     Motive studios have achieved the unthinkable. They took a beloved game and somehow managed to improve on it it. Possibly the greatest horror game of all time.

    When I bought a PS5, it was so exciting– all the cool next gen games that will come! Now, remasters and remakes, with some sides of cross-gen games, have been all we’ve gotten.     Thoughts-
    It’s a game that will keep you constantly on edge, constantly jumping, constantly afraid of what lies around the corner. With its nightmarish Necromorphs and the decaying environments of the Ishimura, Dead Space creates an incredibly foreboding atmosphere, while with other smaller touches, it infects your mind with uncomfortable uncertainty that stays with you even after you’ve put down the controller- hallucination events, randomly triggered jumpscares, creepy whispers in the background, Isaac’s painfully audible heartbeat dynamically reacting to everything that happens in gameplay. The net result is almost beyond description, and captures the essence of the horror genre better than almost any other game has ever managed to do. While some negligibly minor blemishes, such as some small-scale UI glitches, do exist in the game, taken as a whole, it represents a work of creative perfection, one that thoroughly and comprehensively achieves everything it sets out to do, and raises the bar significantly higher for everything else to follow in the process.    … Expand

    Of course, it looks gorgeous. I won’t spend too long banging on about graphics because there’s literally a video at the top of this page, but modern advancements in lighting really lend themselves to this setting, with the brushed metal of your suit and the ship reflecting light. The darkness is actually dark, too, adding to the tension when you’re guided only by torchlight. In a nice touch, the lighting occasionally comes into play in combat, with red emergency lights strobing, illuminating the creatures closing in on you, getting nearer and nearer with every blink.

    Why play this remake? Audio visually, the game is rock solid. The story remains largely true to the original, but in terms of gameplay, minor and major tweaks have been made. The game is more challenging due to new puzzles and there is an extra layer of unpredictability on top that keeps you constantly nervous and alert. If we may offer one tip: don't play this game too late at night if you still want a good night's sleep.
