Starfield for me is very easily the game of the year, it would take something phenomenal to knock it off the top. Is it perfect? Not by any means, there are bugs and exploits to see but you have to go out of your way to do so, albeit to the detriment of your own experience. I think calling it Fallout in Space with Mass Effect tones and elements of No Man’s Sky is a cheap description. I think this is the massive space adventure we have needed and I am addicted to it and with so much content I feel very spoilt. It is so much fun and an RPG lovers fantasy to explore and I cannot recommend it enough.
If a 10/10 means a game (or anything in life) is perfect and absolutely flawless, then nothing deserves a 10/10.
This game is so much fun and there is tons to do. My missions list only grows no matter how hard I try to get things done. The game forces you to find or stumble upon some of the best content and locations in the game instead of telling you where everything is located. And the game gives you countless ways and options to tell your story instead of just giving you a handful of options about how you want to go about combat and pretending that is giving the player choice.
This is a 10/10 because I can't peel myself away from this game. And if I'm not playing I am likely watching Starfield videos, reading guides, or reviewing my game notes I take while playing. The stories are compelling and always leave me wondering what is next. There is a true sense of wonder and awe I continue to feel even after 100+ hours that only Skyrim has ever made me feel before. We will be finding new things in the vanilla game for years to come and that is so exciting.
I've come across very few bugs and glitches and nothing has been game breaking.
The game forces you to slow down. If you're simply rushing this game for the sake of finishing something or being a completionist I feel you'll have a bad time. Slowing down and taking initiative to even explore a little on your own will pay off in the end. And Bethesda does such a great job building culture, history, and lore into a brand new world - which is a tall task after the years of ES and FO games we've enjoyed.
Starfield is so much fun and immersive. I absolutely love it.
Achievement-wise, this game is clearly going to take some time, and that can only be a good thing considering that Starfield seems to have delivered what it promised: an almost endless adventure we’ll still be discovering new details about years down the line.
Starfield may not reinvent the wheel when it comes to Bethesda’s formula for role-playing games, but it cleverly combines the best elements of past games in a very appealing sci-fi setting. The highlights are no doubt the many well-written and well-designed quests that you’ll encounter throughout your journey through the settled systems. No matter what appeals to you as a player, be it nail-biting gunfights, the quiet construction of your own base or the thrills of laser-dodging dye dogfighting, Starfield has hours upon hours of content for you to lose yourself in.
For the sheer size of it, the beauty of the hundreds of different landscapes you can explore and the always engaging missions, Starfield is a massive technical achievement.
If you’re the kind of person who thinks videogames peaked with Fallout 3's launch version and they’ve required neither evolution nor improvement since, this game is absolutely for you. If you believe Bethesda doesn’t need to exhibit growth as an artistic outlet and hasn’t had to change a thing about the way it’s made games since 2008, I can safely say you’ll adore Starfield because it’s all that a Bethesda game has always been... and literally nothing more...Starfield is a shallow ocean, hiding its lack of creative ambition behind the physical size of a universe that’s minuscule where it counts...In short, it's everything a fan of these games could love.
Where do I begin.. I'll start by saying Starfield should have been DELAYED (for as long as it needed to be) until the game was optimised for the Xbox Series S/X, because it is a clunky mess to say the least. There is the potential for a great game here, but it falls short in almost every aspect. From the abysmally bad exploration, to the sub 30fps frame rate, the low I.Q A.I, uninspiring missions (constant fetch quests back and fort, from loading screen to loading screen, washed out graphics, textures with no detail, clunky gunplay, the list goes on, I will wait play New Game + when the "game of the year edition" when that comes out in a few time, hopefully by then there will be a 60fps mode and improvements in every area by then.
Great potential but mostly disappointing in every way.
