There is no higher point in Mario platforming than this, and given the height of galactic situations, only something far off the spectrum like Super Mario Micro or Super Mario Universe ad nauseam could possibly topple it in terms of scale and evolution in game design.
I think Super Mario Galaxy stands out as one of, if not the finest, 3D platformers ever created. It's a game close to my heart, one I played extensively in the past but never finished. On the Switch, I finally completed it 100%, confirming its status as one of the best games ever. This is due to its captivating graphics that add a unique charm, a stellar soundtrack I consider among my all-time favorites, and exceptionally imaginative level design that continues to set the bar even years later. Gameplay on the Switch is enhanced by excellent motion controls, and the game's lore, particularly through Rosalina's storybook, weaves a heartwarming tale that surpasses other Mario titles. The only drawback is the simplicity of the regular missions' difficulty. Otherwise, I tip my hat to a game that has left a lasting impact on me then and now.
ITALIAN USER
All the Super Mario games are fantastic. Everything is perfect, and every time Nintendo manages to amaze with a new release of the world's most famous plumber. From Super Mario 64 to the latest ones, they are beautiful. Recommended for all ages.
If you enjoy playing the best, then you absolutely need to play Super Mario Galaxy. It's our favorite Wii game this year, and a strong contender for the best game of the year.
Super Mario Galaxy is not only the best game on the Wii, but it's one of the best games ever made. Few titles have quite the level of pure creativity mixed with "wow" moments like Galaxy does.
Nintendo has crafted a platform game that, while not as technologically pioneering as its grandfather, is, level for level, more fun to play than "Mario 64." [Dec 2007, p.128]
I play Mario Galaxy 2023 on Wii. Firstly sorry for my bad english. And this game have so good level, and so much fun and relaxing level. I enjoy so many level. BUT . I have a big but. Are you kidding me 97 score? Dude some level have so horrible controller, some level just annoying, big boss (bowser, bowser jr.) all level is same and you play again again. And not have story ( really mediocre) and you give 97?it is insane point for me. I play old games. For example I gave re4 wii edition 10 point. But I can't understand why this game is 97.
It was fun as a kid but we arent 10 years old now. We should move on mediocrity and have our own criticial look at the games. And this one of the most mindnubingly boring game nintendo have ever developed. None of the ideas are actually fun to experience and nothing about the level designs is engaging
[OBJECTIVE QUALITY REVIEW] The controls with the planetary movement just had little if any heart put into them - they simply don't work well when upside down. They should just keep moving in the same direction when GOING upside down and then work 'normally' when ALREADY upside down. Also, the graphics, despite looking realistic, and admittedly even more so than Odyssey's, aren't the best either. Also, and especially considering the aforementioned controls, some challenges of the galaxies in the game are punishing, rather than difficult - because they either require unnecessary amounts of precision, or just simple leave you with no real choice or direction on how to deal with them, at least not right-off-the-bat. Overall, as a result of all of this, the only real reason to get engaged in this game in the long run is completing the main game - the post-game is just boring, tedious, and frustrating to deal with as a whole. Fans that rate this game high should try out other galaxy-style games and compare them, and maybe they'll find the latter objectively better than the former. What a shame.
