Assassin’s Creed Mirage didn’t lie to us. The new opus offers us a return to basics in due form, with an old-fashioned credo and modern mechanics à la Unity. A true melting pot - both in terms of approaches, NPCs and mechanics taken from previous ACs - Mirage is a call to almost limitless freedom. On the other hand, its old-fashioned gameplay, its small technical shortcomings and its very classic side risk leaving some behind. But fans of the license have with Mirage a gripping story, a pleasant breath of nostalgia and a new grandiose dive into great History. Yes, Basim's adventure does not reinvent the wheel, but it is an excellent way to wait for the next big game in the license, Assassin's Creed Codename Red.
Great game, story lost me a little bit, but I am in love with the tool selections and stealth. This really is a back to the roots game. I highly recommend ac mirage.
Mirage is more of a tribute that a return to the classics, but the setting, the level design and the reasonable length are welcome changes to make Assassin’s Creed more enjoyable for the fans of the first games.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a triumphant return to the style of the original Assassin’s Creed games. It maintains some RPG elements such as upgrading equipment and learning abilities through skill points, but this is done on a smaller scale than the most recent predecessors. Mirage hits the sweet spot when it comes to game length, long enough to feel worthwhile but short enough where it never drags or feels bogged down by filler content.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is perfectly serviceable and will certainly scratch an itch for major fans - though it's arguably not a bad entry point for newcomers either.
Best ubisoft game in the last 5 years, everything about the parkour, the city and the atmosphere of this game is truly incredible, hope they stick to this formula.
Assassins Creed Mirage is not great but not bad, the way I can best describe it is that it is a good first step to new Assassins Creed games. Since the launch of Mirage three days ago, I have 100% and platinumed the game on the PS5. Keep in mind that I have played every single main AC game that has come out. It is one of my favorite series of video games and this is my honest pros and cons review for Mirage.PROS:Back to "Roots"- Mirage gives you that feeling and sense of nostalgia of what Assassins Creed used to be, more or so I mean AC1, AC2, and brotherhood.Stealth System- I really enjoyed the stealth system and it was super fun to assassinate someone from behind and then press R1 to throw a knife at an enemy 10 meters away. Another cool thing for me was able to go inside so many buildings and houses, traversing through **** of tools- The tools were super handy, there is a total of 5 tools and they were super fun to use and also being able to customize them to fit you best.Skillset- Although it did not have a big range of skillsets, I think in my opinion, it was more than enough and I liked the fact that it was simple and effectiveMap detail/Visuals- The city of Baghdad is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. There is not really much to say, I loved the fact that Mirage has different districts and the wilderness outside of Baghdad that you can roam around.Information Database- As someone who loves history, the game truly does a great job of describing Baghdad and its historic landmarks. Once you have completed the game and collected everything, definitely take a look at the database.Pickpocket system- Super fun and the fact that it has a little mini-game makes it all the way better. The only thing I will say is that during the mini-game it would have been better to change which button to press to successfully pickpocket instead of just pressing the triangle button. Passing time- Another cool feature that I really liked was when you sit on a bench, you can pass time by changing it from Night to Day.Assassin Focus- This ability to most of us, you either like it or not. Personally at first when they introduced this in the trailer, I was a little bit skeptical cause it felt like it wouldn't mix well with this game but since playing the game I love the Assassin Focus. To be able to mark up to 5 enemies and see a cool transition while Basim does his thing, I really did enjoy it. Also if you are not into it, the game doesn't force you to use it, so you get to pick.Collectibles- While progressing for the Platinum Trophy, I did like the collectibles system. It was simple and straightforward and it allowed you to explore the whole Map.CONS:Short Story/Repetitive- I did not really enjoy the story that much, it was still interesting but not that informative. There was at some point in the game where I was really confused about what was going on. Without spoiling the game much, the Moral of the story is that the Order is in Baghdad and you need to kill all the membersToo easy & simple- I know in the pros list, I did mention that some aspects of the game were nice and simple but all in all, I wasn't really happy with the fact that it was too easy. Once you play the game you'll understand what I mean. Enemies- The enemies to be honest could have been a lot better and had a lot more variations. We have the common guards and archers, and then we have a flamethrower dude, Brutes, and the **** who are basically ninjas.Facial Detail- When they speak, their mouths barely moveMISC- Very few side missions, the Horse in the city is bad, Trophy system could have been **** conclusion, yes there are some things that still lack, given the fact that originally this game was supposed to be a DLC to Valhalla, Less than 20 hours to complete the story and around 24 hours to get Platinum. All in all, I did like the game and it was a good first step for the future of Assassins Creed.
This game is definitely not the best assassin’s creed but compared to every other ac game from syndicate up until Valhalla it’s been my favorite. They finally went back to their roots and what made assassins creed assassins creed. It is a massive step in the right direction and I pray that the future installments will follow this same path which made ac one of my most favorite video game franchises. Ubisoft I know you have been going downhill but I believe in you. Please bring back the games we know and love.
I will try to be honest, I will play it, but not because I like it, but because I have played all the other titles in this series and enjoyed them. The game is terrifyingly stupid, we are not talking about what they tried to do but about the end **** graphics seem to be derived from Aladdin, the Disney version, but I could handle that. Disturbing is the minimum number of animations for each action, the feeling of stiffness in movement, npc's that do not react to your presence, collision problems in small spaces, etc. The idea of returning the series to its origins sounds good, but the final product is a disaster, after the first 40 minutes of the game I'm still waiting for someone to come and tell me that I'm the victim of a prank. The game is not a return to the source, it simply feels like an old game. Someone, somewhere, made a major mistake.
That moment when you take out 14 years old gameplay from refrigerator and wish it will make a good game out of it. Mirage has some moments of nostalgia but most of the time you sit bored because of the story you don't care about, poor voice acting that sounds like 6 years old is learning to read and anoying and not precise character movement and parcour. Oh and don't make me mention repetetive fetch quest missions.
