FAQ Question #49

» My protected posts are listed as public memories. Who can see them?

Any post you make always retains the security level that you set for it, no matter who marks it as a memory and what security level is chosen.

For example, you may post a friends-only entry, which your friend may then mark as a public memory. Anyone who looks at your friend's memory list will see that the post has been marked as a memory and will see the description that your friend gave to that memory. However, if a person who does not have access to the post tries to access the post directly, they will see "Error - You are not authorized to view this protected entry" when they click on the memory.

This error will appear any time a user tries to access a post that they are not permitted to view, even if they can see a link to that post, such as a memory.
