Dirty Jobs: Season 4 - An unflinching look at the unsung American worker, and the unusual but vital vocations that must be done. There's a lot to learn as host Mike Rowe introduces us to an elite assortment of men and women who make their living doing the most unthinkable jobs. Eps. 1: Animal Rendering - Mike takes a trip to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles to find out about the important work being done in Pit 91. He climbs down into the pit to shore up the walls to prevent the pit from being filled in with the surrounding dirt. He then pulls out the old rotten boards and learns why it's important to study fossils. Mike installs new boards and heads over to the glopping area where he uses his hands to remove the asphalt from the trench that carries the water in the pit to the sump pump. The sump can also get clogged with asphalt so Mike climbs into the sump pump pit and removes buckets full of asphalt to clear it out. When the mission is complete, he dumps the buckets of asphalt into a pit that is currently not being excavated. After cleaning up, Mike heads into the fishbowl where he puts on a lab coat and opens a casing containing a fossil. Mike then journeys to Northern California to discover what happens to animals when they die of natural causes on farms. He begins his day on a farm where he loads the animals onto the truck and takes them to North State Rendering. He uses compressed air to separate the hide from the animal before he skins it. Next, he takes the hide and drops it down a hole in the floor to the cellar and then sends the animal into the grinder. Mike learns the definition of rendering and about the by- products of the rendering process. He sends the grounds to the cookers so they can be reduced into yellow grease and protein. After cooking the meat, Mike separates the grease from the protein and presses the meat. He then heads to the cellar and spreads the hides to salt them. Finally, Mike shovels grease and fixes the skimmer before saying goodbye and heading home.

Man Vs Wild: Season 3 - Bear Grylls has served with the British Special forces, climbed Everest and explored the Arctic. In this exciting series he shows us how to survive the toughest and most visited environments on the planet by putting himself in the position of a stranded tourist. He parachutes into rainforests, abseils into deserts and lakes, and onto the highest, most inhospitable peaks in America. Using his specialist survival techniques to find his way out of these wildernesses he climbs sheer cliffs, navigates white water and icy crevasses, encounters snakes, spiders and predators and forages for food, from maggots and raw fish, to roots and berries. Eps 1: Baja Desert - Bear Grylls is back in a new season of Man vs. Wild. He parachutes into the boulder strewn desert canyons on the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. In temperatures soaring into the 120s he tackles dehydration, heatstroke, and overwhelming odds to show how you can survive the challenges of the desert. Bear traps a skunk, makes an ingenious water trap from his bootlaces, and scales 500ft high cliffs. Yet the biggest threat to him comes from a tiny bee sting which swells his eyes shut and half blinds him. In this terrible condition he has to battle a deadly diamond-back rattlesnake.
