In a bid to save the rock’n’roll bar where they work, they book a preening rock star (Tom Cruise), a move that has major consequences for everyone.
It’s a mess, but an ebullient one, a rowdy clash of ’80s glam metal and Glee-esque gloss.
Hough sparkles, Cruise swaggers and club owner Alec Baldwin and his sidekick Russell Brand make sweet music (metaphorically, rather than literally).
