Apparently we're not the only ones eagerly anticipating GTA V, well, according to Take 2's rocketing share price anyway. To keep your appetite whet, Rockstar's punted out yet more lust-worthy wallpaper fodder for you to download and pick apart. What does it all mean? Read More >>

This image is so unreal that it feels like a sci-fi illustration more than a photo. It looks like part of a spaceship—perhaps some structure from an Imperial Star Destroyer—instead of the 1,000-ton deckhouse of the United States' new destroyer USS Zumwalt. Read More >>
This is not a mile high club you want to be a part of. On a flight from Reykjavik, Iceland to JFK in the US yesterday, a drunken passenger got so unruly that the flight crew had to restrain him. To his seat. With duct tape and zip ties. Check out the full image below. [Buzzfeed] Read More >>

If the teasertrailers didn't sate your lust for all-out Star Trek action, then these new screens should do. I guess having gotten all the scene setting and back story related to the reboot out the way, there's nothing more to do than push the stellar sci-fi action to the limit. Yep, I seriously can't wait for this. Read More >>
Not that it's not a gorgeous-looking phone, but oh my god it looks like the iPhone 5's twin brother. I know Samsung and Apple have serious beef with each other, but hell, that's almost Chinese knock-off territory. Probably utter crap then, but just imagine if it was real. Pixar's shorts and movies are the stuff of legend. Gloriously colourful, often full of humour, and infinitely watchable, even if it does feel weird if you don't have a kid. The same goes for its concept art, which Pixar has been showing off for its incoming awesome-looking movies. Read More >>

Sometimes I think Dubai exists in its very own dimension, an alternative over-the-top world where everything has to be the best of the best. This amazing photograph by Gerald Donovan is proof: the biggest and tallest firework show in the world, shot on New Year's Eve 2013 at the Burj Khalifa, the highest man-made structure in the world at 2,722 feet (829.8 metres). I used to always pick the aisle seat whenever I flew on a plane. It's not like I'm ridiculously tall or anything, I just enjoyed the freedom of one side (preferably my right) and the easy access to the bathroom (of which I rarely use). But on a recent trip to New York, I traded my aisle seat for a window seat. And after seeing New York from above, man, I don't think I'll ever sit in an aisle seat again. Read More >>

I was looking back for the best, most impressive astronomy images of the year 2012, ready to post a winner, when this dropped in my NASA feed. The image is stunning all on its own, but the description just made my head spin. Combined with its sheer beauty, it made it the winner. Here is why: Read More >>

I don't buy this whole Santa lives at the North Pole thing. Obviously — looking at this picture of an incredible ice structure by Sander Klaassen — the real Santa must live in Pleneau Bay, Antarctica. The fake Coca-Cola one is the one who lives in the North Pole, with the polar bears. [National Geographic] Read More >>
