Frequently Asked Questions

exec-appointments.com is a job board specially for executives seeking jobs – in any sector or country - that pay in excess of £50K (or equivalent). We are part of Financial Times Recruitment Solutions and are owned by The Financial Times Ltd. For more information, see About Us.

We carry paid-for job ads from direct employers, recruitment consultancies and agencies. All our advertisers are checked and have to sign up to our advertising terms and conditions. All job ads are classified carefully so that they appear in appropriate job searches, email alerts and "browse jobs" pages.

No. There are no charges to jobseekers for finding, viewing or applying for any of the jobs advertised on our site. Registration, needed for some features, is also free of charge. Our non-job advertisers and providers of content, eg within the Career Services section, may of course be promoting their own paid-for products or services.

No, but you do need to register to apply for jobs, to receive job alerts by email, and to save your jobs shortlist as well as view your job applications record. You also need to register if you wish to use the mobile-friendly version of exec-appointments.com, which is m.exec-appointments.com. Registration is free, quick and easy.

Absolutely. As well as basic registration info, we also ask for some optional details about your current or last position, so that we can use these data to help target relevant jobs to you as well as providing aggregated, anonymous statistics to our advertisers so they know the calibre of candidates available on our site. We will never provide any of your personal details to any third party – see our privacy policy for more information.

Make sure you have cookies, Java and Javascript enabled and check you are using a compatible browser. We support the recent versions of the major browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome). Also ensure that the popup or ad blocking options set up in your browser or security software are not preventing the full operation of the site. Test turning them off, and if that corrects the issue, make sure exec-appointments.com is an ‘allowed’ site.

We’ll send you an email daily if there are jobs that match the criteria you’ve selected for your job alert. If you’re not getting regular mails, first check (in the My Account area) that the search the email alert is based on is returning results on the website. If it is not, review your criteria: you may need to broaden them so that more jobs are selected.

If that’s not the issue, then check that your spam filter is not trapping our mails, and amend your settings to allow email from jobs@exec-appointments.com.

When you apply for a job advertised on exec-appointments.com, you are communicating directly with the advertiser. Advertisers have varying policies and practices on whether or not they acknowledge receipt of applications and whether they respond to unsuccessful candidates. You can be confident that the advertiser will have received your application. We record all applications sent via our site (although if the response mechanism is via the advertiser’s own site, we can’t do so) and these records are available to the advertiser so that they can check that they’ve received all those sent and request a resend if necessary.

If you are interested in becoming a non-executive director, you will find our FT Non-Executive Directors Club of interest. Or, for other assistance in your job search, see the services and advice available in our Career Services section. Job ads for business leaders and senior appointments also appear in the Financial Times newspaper each Thursday.

This is at our advertisers’ discretion, but is normally around one or two weeks. We have such excellent candidates using exec-appointments.com that advertisers usually find that they receive the response they need within a short space of time. We never artificially prolong the life of an ad – it is removed as soon as the advertiser’s specified booking expires or earlier if they take it down – so you can be confident in the quality and recency of the jobs on exec-appointments.com.

If you have saved a job to your shortlist, it will be removed once it has expired or been removed. When you apply for a job, its details will continue to be available to you for as long as you wish to keep them.

Yes, if you access exec-appointments.com on a recognised mobile device, you will be automatically diverted to m.exec-appointments.com. Our mobile site enables registered users to see the latest results for up to five of their saved job searches, as well as browse through our most popular sector pages. You can view full details of jobs and save them to your ‘My Account’, so that you can review and apply for them when you are back at your computer.

If you leave the "remember me" box ticked, your username and password will be saved in a cookie on this computer. This means that next time you visit this site you will not need to re-enter these details. If you delete the cookie or your browser is set to not accept cookies this function will not work. You can de-select the function at any time by clicking on the "Sign Out" option.

Warning: we suggest you do not select the "remember me" function if you use a shared computer or non-secure access.
