In addition to the Mid-Con crown, the Leathernecks garnered the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Men’s College Cup in which WIU will face regionally-ranked Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., at 5 p.m. Nov. 18. 2005 Mid-Continent Conference Men's Soccer Champions - Western Illinois KANSAS CITY, MO. — The wind played a major factor in the Mid-Continent Conference Men’s Soccer Championship match as third-seeded Western Illinois (6-9-4, 3-2-1 Mid-Con) posted a 4-3 win in overtime against top-seeded Oakland (10-9-0, 5-1-0 Mid-Con) to win its second consecutive Mid-Con Championship at Swope Park in Kansas City, Mo. The Leathernecks also earn the Mid-Con’s automatic berth into the NCAA Men’s College Cup.
